Mad Hatter The Musical
On April 16, 2023, at 3 p.m., Alexandre da Costa and the Longueuil Symphony Orchestra are pleased to announce that they will perform a fully orchestrated concert version of Mad Hatter The Musical at Place des Arts Symphony Hall in downtown Montreal.
Alexandre De Costa fell in love with the musical and the story right away after attending the New York industry presentation. He knew right away that he wanted to be the first to orchestrate this score. This music is lush, romantic, and memorable.
Since 2018, Mad Hatter the Musical has been in development, with plans to perform on Broadway and the West End in the near future. Michael J. Polo, an award-winning composer and co-creator, Vincent Connor, a book author, and Victor Valdez, a songwriter, make up the creative team., They will also be joined for the Montreal performance by music director Charlie Reuter (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder) and English-speaking narrator Will Nunziata.
An all-star cast that has won awards is part of this exciting one-time event. The Queen of Hearts, portrayed by Brittney Johnson (Wicked), a Broadway performer; Alice Fearn (Wicked, Come from Away), a West End star, will play Marybeth, the wife of the Mad Hatter. Victor Valdez, a singer-songwriter, is playing Yola, the Cheshire Cat. In addition to narrating in French, Éléonore Lagacé, who appeared on Big Brother Celebrities Season 2 in Montreal, will play Bailey the Mouse. while Vincent Connor, a co-creator, will perform as the Mad Hatter; Lastly, the infamous Caterpillar will be played by Terry Barber.

The musical takes place on the dank, gloomy streets of London, where we follow Franklin Magellan, also known as the Mad Hatter, a depressed, disabled young man. We see how difficult it is for him to find his place in Wonderland.
Franklin is accidentally sent back to his bleak life in London, but while he is in Wonderland, he falls in love with his new life free of pain and sadness. Even if it means having to leave everyone behind, Franklin does whatever it takes to get back to Wonderland.
