The international thriller Nine Premieres At, directed by actor Chris Attoh and produced by Silver Lining, will have its world premiered at “Theatre on the Square” at the Joburg Film Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, on February 2nd, 2023, at 7:30 p.m.
Erica Joy, who is also known for her work on BET’s “The Family Business” and “The Black Hamptons,” created the characters and wrote the feature film. The film, which was shot in Accra, Ghana, and Los Angeles, California, is being produced by Silver Lining Entertainment in collaboration with the Ghanaian production company A-Factory Ltd.
A forensic consultant calls in a homicide detective from the United States to assist in the investigation of a string of young women who were killed in a ritualistic manner during a full Ghanaian moon. As the investigation progresses, the consultants quickly discover that they are caught in the middle of an elite group of Nine Premieres At hooded all-female assassins’ quest to stop a dark supernatural force that was predicted to gain immortality by the next Blue Moon.
Angela White, p.g.a. served as executive producer. veteran television and feature film producer based in Los Angeles, CA, and founder of Silver Lining Entertainment, LLC. White is the first African American woman to own and produce a faith-based film with Kim Fields and Richard T. Jones, “A Question of Faith,” which was released in theaters.
Her movies have featured some of Hollywood’s best actors, like Tiffany Haddish in “4Play” and Omari Hardwick in “The Last Letter.” Her most recent work can also be seen on the TV shows “Lace” and “A La Carte” from ALLBLK, a streaming service owned by AMC Networks.
