On YNF Entertainment Magazine, “the best entertainment magazine in the UK“, Dionne Warwick and Damon Elliott, her Manager-Producer son, are joining the production team of HITS! The Musical as Co-Producers.
HITS! The Musical
For music fans of all ages, HITS! The Musical is an unforgettable production of nonstop, foot-tapping fun and excitement. The show will take audiences aged 10 to 22 on a musical journey through medleys of 80 of America’s most beloved songs, including “Hero,” “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “Singing in the Rain.”
HITS! Bob Gries, the founder and executive producer of the musical, came up with the idea to give 29 young talented performers a chance to take center stage and show off their individual talents.
“The show is a first class production with a cast of extremely talented young people,” said Damon Elliott. “We are delighted to be a part of this musical which features songs the audiences will know and will be a memorable experience for the entire family.”
“The talent of these budding young superstars was so impressive that I just had to be a part of this extraordinary musical,” said Dionne Warwick. “I’m thrilled that this amazing cast will have the opportunity to perform on a national stage and showcase their singing and dancing talents while bringing everyone’s favorite songs to life.”
Warwick has been an American pop music icon for more than 50 years thanks to her instantly recognizable voice and memorable songs. She is ranked #74 on the Billboard Hot 100’s list of the “Greatest Artists of All Time.” She is a well-known international musician and one of the singers whose songs have been charted the most. She has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and has more than 56 hit singles, 12 of which have reached the top ten, and has been honored with numerous other prestigious honors in addition to her Grammy Awards, including induction into the Apollo Theater Walk of Fame, the Grammy Hall of Fame, and the R&B Music Hall of Fame.
Warwick continues to thrive today. In 2023, she will perform at a few select venues across North America, including the star-studded MusiCares dinner on February 3 in honor of Smokey Robinson and Berry Gordy. Additionally, she will attend the 65th GRAMMY Awards on February 5th.
Her manager-producer son Damon Elliott, who is also a successful, well-known, and respected record producer, singer, songwriter, and composer in his own right, is largely to credit for the continued success of her career.
Diane Warren, the songwriter who holds the record for the most Academy Award nominations, wrote and produced “Applause,” for which Elliott is expected to receive an Oscar nomination. He also produced the title track for the upcoming movie “80 for Brady,” which was written by Diane Warren and features Dolly Parton, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, and Debbie Harry singing it.
